IVS Rules

What Are Dahua IVS Rules?

IVS (Intelligent Video System) rules are predefined intelligent video analytics rules that automatically detect specific motion patterns, object states, or unusual behaviors within the video scene and trigger corresponding alarms or events.

Overview of Dahua IVS Rules:

1. Tripwire (person, vehicle, non-motor vehicle, animal): for monitoring defined entry points, driveways, or property boundaries.

2. Intrusion (person, vehicle, non-motor vehicle, animal): for clearly defined security zones such as entrances, storage areas, or restricted areas.

*For people, Dahua’s AI algorithm can accurately detect not only standing and walking postures, but also crawling, rolling, creeping, jumping, face covering, and other suspicious movement patterns.

3. Abandoned Object: for detecting unattended or left-behind items in sensitive or publicly accessible areas.

4. Missing Object: for monitoring fixed-position objects, goods, or equipment for removal or unauthorized taking.

5. Loitering Detection: for areas where prolonged presence is considered suspicious or security-relevant.

6. Fast Moving Detection (person, vehicle, animal): for detecting unusual movement dynamics within the monitored area.

7. Crowd Gathering: for the early detection of larger groups of people in high-traffic or sensitive areas.

8. Virtual Fence Crossing: for securing virtual boundaries and restricted areas without a physical barrier.

9. Parking Detection: for monitoring stopping zones, access roads, loading areas, or parking spaces for unauthorized or prolonged vehicle parking.

What Practical Benefits Do Dahua IVS Rules Offer?

The key advantage of using Dahua IVS rules lies in their more precise event detection compared to conventional motion detection. Irrelevant movement is filtered out, while defined rule violations and relevant target objects are reported on an event-driven basis. This not only reduces the number of false alarms, but also speeds up the prioritization of relevant incidents, since alarms are linked to specific rule violations. As a result, response times are shortened and a clearer escalation logic is supported.

In addition, Dahua IVS rules improve the efficiency of incident review, as analysis can be carried out in a more structured way based on the triggered IVS events. This allows relevant events to be examined more precisely without the need to manually search through extensive video footage. For security personnel, this means a lower operational workload in day-to-day operations and a stronger focus on security-relevant incidents. In combination with Dahua Siren and Light Alarm technologies, IVS rules can also be used for the direct deterrence of intruders.
