Heatmap
What Is Dahua Heatmap?
Heatmap is an AI-driven Dahua analytics feature for the visual analysis of footfall and dwell intensity within defined areas. Using deep learning algorithms, the system can generate two types of heatmaps: one based on the number of people and the other on average dwell time. This enables the visualization of movement and dwell patterns within an area to support the operational decision-making.
From a technical perspective, Dahua Heatmap works by analysing presence patterns within the monitored area on a statistical basis and evaluating their spatial distribution. The results are then visualised as a colour-coded heatmap, making highly frequented or longer-used zones immediately identifiable.
What Practical Benefits Does Dahua Heatmap Offer?
In retail analytics, heatmaps provide a valuable tool for evaluating customer flows, dwell times, and the use of individual sales areas. The feature helps identify high-traffic and low-traffic zones with precision and supports the development of targeted measures for product placement, promotional area design, customer flow management, and resource planning. This enables data-based optimisation of sales areas and locations. Beyond retail, heatmaps are also well suited to trade fairs, festivals, transport hubs, museums, and other high-traffic environments where footfall, dwell intensity, and space utilisation need to be assessed.
