What Is Dahua Face Recognition?
Face Recognition is an AI-driven Dahua feature for identifying individuals using biometric facial characteristics. It works by extracting distinctive facial features and comparing them with profiles stored in a face database, enabling individuals to be identified or differentiated based on video footage or uploaded images.
- Depending on the model, both Dahua cameras and Dahua NVR systems can extract face-related attributes as AI video metadata, including age, gender, facial expression, glasses, face mask, and beard.
- At NVR level, each facial image can also be enriched with additional database information, including name, gender, date of birth, address, ID type, ID number, countries and regions, and state.
What Practical Benefits Does Dahua Face Recognition Offer?
Face Recognition improves the structure and usability of face-related data captured from video footage. Detected facial data can be evaluated for search, filtering, and analysis based on criteria such as repeat visits, entry frequency, and demographic attributes. This allows recurring individuals, entry frequency, and site-specific groups such as staff or security personnel to be assessed more precisely, while excluding individuals who are not part of the actual visitor flow from the analysis.
