 GENERAL INFORMATION

IP cameras, also called network cameras, send the recordings to the network via a video stream. You can view the video stream conveniently in your web browser, on a network video recorder, or on the go via the DMSS app for Android and iPhone. Modern encoding methods, such as the H.265 codec, reduce the size of the video and audio signals. This means that even smaller hard disks can cover a large recording volume. Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) allows you to control and power your cameras with just one cable. With the help of Dahua's active converters, you can also integrate your IP cameras into a system that only uses coaxial BNC cables. Our sales department will be happy to help you find a suitable solution that exactly meets your needs.

 IMAGE QUALITY

Resolution

Network cameras support resolutions far beyond 4K-UHD. Dahua Technology currently produces IP cameras with resolutions of up to 12 megapixels, which is an increase in the number of pixels by more than 50% compared to 8 megapixels / 4K-UHD. The higher resolution allows more details to be seen, so the information content of the images increases. The distance of the camera to the monitored area plays a major role in the selection of the appropriate resolution. If you place your camera at great heights, or if you use it to survey larger areas, then a high resolution offers you the possibility of recognising details from a greater distance when using digital zoom.

Framerate

The frame rate, specified in "fps", is an important component in recording, as a smooth image reproduction provides more usable information. A higher frame rate ensures that even fast objects can be easily recognised in the recording.

 INSTALLATION

With the help of numerous junction boxes, extensions, hanging mount adapters and mounting boxes, you have a wide range of options to install your cameras safely even in difficult locations.  By using active converters, you can operate your network cameras over existing coaxial cables even without existing Ethernet cables, saving you time and labour costs.

 TECHNOLOGIEN

Wide Dynamic Range

Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) is a technique for balancing light and dark areas in the image. Especially in scenes with very high contrast, the WDR function ensures that an even exposure takes place. In this way, even people standing in front of a light source, such as a window or a spotlight, can be easily recognised.

Ex-Proof

Especially in areas where there is a very high risk of fire or explosion, conventional cameras are often not allowed to be installed. With the EPC230U, Dahua offers an explosion-proof camera that complies with all current certificates and can be installed in critical areas.

 PRODUCT FEATURES

Colour

Dahua's explosion-proof cameras are available in stainless steel, making them particularly weather-resistant.

Camera Type

Surveillance cameras come in a variety of designs. The best known of these are the "bullet" cameras, which resemble a tube due to their design. These cameras are preferred for outdoor use. Dome and eyeball cameras often have round and very compact housings. In the case of "dome" cameras, the lens of the camera is protected under a glass dome from external influences such as weather or vandalism. When buying, look for the IK10 rating, these cameras are vandalism-proof! Thanks to their very short focal length, fisheye cameras have the special ability to create a very wide angle of view. With the help of a suitable recorder that supports "Fisheye Dewarp", you have the possibility to display several image sections of the fisheye camera undistorted. Pinhole cameras are used in places where a standard camera would be immediately detected. Due to their size, they are easy to install and can be hidden in their surroundings. PTZ cameras (pan-tilt-zoom) have the function of being controlled remotely. This allows you to quickly change the camera's field of view or follow events.

Max Resolution

A high resolution offers a more detailed image and ensures that even with a high digital zoom, many details such as number plates, faces and more, remain visible. You can find Dahua network cameras in resolutions up to 12 megapixels.

IR LED Lighting Distance

A high illumination distance of the infrared LEDs ensures that even larger areas are illuminated for the camera at night. The infrared light can only be seen by the cameras and offers the cameras the possibility to produce a black and white image even in complete darkness.

Lens Type

Choose between a motorised lens where you can easily adjust and change the focal length yourself, or a fixed lens with a fixed focal length for use in places where it is not necessary to mechanically change the angle of view.

Audio In

Use the audio input of your IP camera to connect a compatible microphone. Often the quality of the built-in microphone is not sufficient, or the camera is placed in a location (e.g. near a TV or ventilation) where audio recordings become unusable. By connecting a microphone, you can influence and improve the recording location and quality yourself, e.g. by using an omni-directional microphone with noise reduction.

Perimeter Protection

Use the perimeter protection to define zones and lines in the user interface of your camera. You have the option to set a filter for people or vehicles. If, for example, an object detected by your filter enters the camera's field of view and crosses the drawn line or zone, the camera triggers an alarm.

Alarm Input

You can connect devices such as sensors or Infra-Red motion detectors via the alarm input of your IP camera in order to have the camera perform certain actions after motion is detected, e.g. start a recording.

Alarm Output

Devices such as acoustic sirens or warning and alarm lights can be triggered directly by the camera in the event of an alarm. To do this, connect your devices directly to the alarm output of your camera.
